We are offering two stand alone bite-size Carer Awareness training sessions to professionals across the city, on Tuesday 3 October in the Rowntree Room at West Offices.  You are welcome to attend either the morning or the afternoon session.

Morning Session 9.15am to 12pm

Afternoon Session 1 to 3.45pm

This course is an introduction to York Carers Centre  – Identifying and Supporting Unpaid Carers

  • It is an opportunity for professionals to learn more about York Carers Centre and the support available for unpaid carers across the city

  • Increase your understanding of carers, their role and its effect on their lives

  • Opportunity to explore how we as professionals working in the health and social care field can help to: identify carers early; recognise them as ‘partners’ in care; help carers to maintain their own health and wellbeing

The Clinical Commissioning Group are supporting this work and the Council’s Workforce Development Unit are taking bookings for us. To book a place please contact: or phone 01904 553017
