Carers Week is a national campaign to celebrate and recognise the UK’s 6.5 million carers who look after family or friends who are older, ill or have a disability. York Carers Centre are committed to helping the city’s estimated 18,000 carers within Carer Friendly Communities; places where local people and services understand a carer’s daily reality and do what they can to make life a little bit easier for them.
If you would like to help raise awareness and make York as carer friendly as possible, please consider completing our free online carer awareness training www.ycctraining.co.uk or by adding this strapline to your emails during Carers Week (12 – 18 June):
This Carers Week we are committed to recognising and supporting unpaid carers with York Carers Centre
If you are able to do either or both of these, please let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org and I can recommend you on the national Carers Week ‘Carer Friendly Communities wall’ (www.carersweek.org/about-carer-friendly-communities) as a supporter.
