You can train a dog to jump over fences, herd sheep, go to the toilet outside, sniff out drugs and rescue humans from avalanches. Quite often it is hard to get a cat to come in at night, even if its for their own safety. However the idea that dogs are smarter than cats appears to be wrong, according to a new study which suggests that felines show similar signs of intelligence to pooches.
Researchers from Japan have discovered that cats have the same power of introspection – a sign of intelligence – as dogs were already known to possess.
