Soap fans may well recognise the new voice coming out of the wireless this week.
Minster FM has revealed the new co-presenter of its weekday breakfast show. Joining long-running host Ben Fry is former Emmerdale actor Roxanne Pallett.
Roxy starred as Jo Sugden in the series between 2005 and 2009, winning acclaim for a shocking domestic violence storyline.
She later became a favourite on Dancing On Ice, starred in BBC shows Casualty and Waterloo Road, and featured in a number of horror movies, including Lake Placid 3.
On stage Roxy took lead roles in musicals The Wedding Singer and The Rocky Horror Show as well as straight plays like John Godber’s On The Piste.
But now she says she has quit acting because the industry has become “fickle and ridiculous”. And her new career as a radio broadcaster begins on Monday (February 26).
