ME Awareness – Lightning Up Clifford’s Tower In Blue

Clifford's Tower 10 May

Just to let you know that City of York Council has agreed to light up Clifford’s Tower in York in blue over the period 11 to 17 May to help raise awareness of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME).

This is part of a worldwide campaign where buildings in towns and cities across the globe will be lit in this way as part of a month long effort to highlight the Millions Missing from their normal lives due to this illness.   ME receives no UK government research funding, but does receive scepticism from many in the medical world.  There are more people in the UK with ME than MS and Parkinson’s combined, (NHS figures), and despite being recognised by the World Health Organisation as a neurological illness in 1969, it continues to fly under the radar of recognition.
