You may not use yours much right now, but it’s likely that many more of us will be interacting with our smartphones using voice commands in the future. By 2019, one fifth of user interactions with a phone will be through its digital assistant, according to research from analyst firm Gartner. Artificially intelligent voice-activated assistants like Apple’s Siri, Google’s Google Assistant and Microsoft’s Cortana have been a fixture in smartphones for several years, and are slowly getting better at completing tasks such as making calls or setting alarms successfully.
