The Script, Bridlington Spa

By Graham Clark in The Yorkshire Times.

The posters outside the Bridlington Spa advertise shows by tribute bands and touring 80’s acts but tonight in Brid internationally successful group The Script are appearing at the venue in what must be a huge coup for the town.

First up though is support act JP Cooper. He is a good choice of act to support The Script, as his songs are melodic and he will appeal to the same audience.

Now with a four piece band, the Manchester singer seemed taken aback by the enthusiastic response. “Thanks for coming early, I’ve played to a lot of empty rooms” he offers as he introduces Passport Home, but it is his single September Song, the track that established his solo career that gets the biggest cheer. A great introduction to this emerging artist. Perhaps a BRIT nomination could be on the cards next February?
