York St Mary’s will reopen next month – showcasing some of the world’s greatest artworks as you’ve never seen them before.

Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience brings the Dutch master’s paintings to life. Huge animated projections allow you to step inside the art.

It opens at the Coppergate venue on 5 July following successful runs in Brussels and Naples.

More than 200 of his works are featured. The digital recreations are set to a powerful soundtrack, to create a world where the visitor sees through the eyes of Vincent Van Gogh for a 35 minute, immersive 360-degree experience.

York was chosen as the first venue in the UK as a destination which embraces both its heritage and digital prowess, recognised as a UNESCO City of Media Arts.
