A filmmaker from near York is bringing home an awesome souvenir of her trip to the US – only an Oscar!
Serena Armitage, of Nun Monkton, collected the coveted golden figurine at the 88th Academy Awards on Sunday (February 28).
She produced Stutterer, which won the award for Best Live Action Short Film.
Serena told the Academy, and watching millions:
On behalf of Shan, who produced this film with me, we just want to thank Ben for bringing us on a journey and to the academy for honouring short films.
Benjamin Cleary, who wrote the film, appeared on the rostrum with Serena.
