I would like to share with you, correspondence today between the office of my York MP, Julian Sturdy and myself.
Dear Mr Clayton
Further to your earlier email, I have been in touch with Peter Bottomley’s office, who is the Chair of the APPG for ME.
He welcomes Julian’s membership, and we hope to receive some further information over future meetings soon.
With regards to the meeting on the 17th March, unfortunately Julian was unable to attend due to prior diary commitments in the constituency, however I can assure you that he will prioritise the next APPG meeting.
Office of Julian Sturdy MP
Please thank Julian for me for taking an interest in this important matter. He will have been aware of the protests in the Commons today by many in the disabled community who feel let down by those they elected to represent them. Once part of the APPG, it will be important for him to keep in touch with those who have ME and know the real story and effect it has, not just the bodies who can often become detached from the grass roots and follow an unconnected agenda.
