The new owners of a Dunnington pub are putting on a spooky Halloween disco for charity.

Nicky and Nick Thomason took over the Cross Keys pub in July after returning to Yorkshire, having lived in New Zealand for several years.

The disco will take place on Saturday night. Fancy dress is optional.

There will also be a raffle in aid of York Against Cancer. First prize will be a meal for two, complete with a bottle of wine, with the second prize being a “navvy’s breakfast”, donated by Knavesmire Butchers.

Mr Thomason said: “We only took over the pub about three months ago, so we’re new owners. We wanted to do something for Halloween in aid of a local charity, and York Against Cancer is one that has helped a lot of local people.”
