The inaugural coffee morning, on Tuesday 13 October, was well attended by six lovely members and we had, what I hope was, an enjoyable and informal hour and a half chatting about our ME journey’s, life in general, and hobbies, over coffee (or in my case green tea!). Conversation easily flowed, and we were all just “normal” ladies with one common denominator, but it was clear from each member’s story that we HAD this beasty and had or were learning to live with it, this beasty did NOT HAVE US!!
The venue, Waterstones Cafe, was an ideal venue, with lift access for members with mobility problems.
Attendees (from left to right) were: Sandie, Olwen, Me – Anne, Odette, Jill aka Foxy Lady and Shirley. Thank you ladies for attending and making the first coffee morning such a great success.
Our official photographer was Phillip, Olwen’s partner, who we thank very much for all his hard work with six different cameras / phones!
The next meeting(s) have been arranged, the first of which will be held on Tuesday 17 November, Waterstones Café, at 13:30pm. Following that meetings will be held on the third Tuesday of every month, and unless notified in the calendar, will be same venue, same time, so please check the calendar each month. I do hope that these days, dates and times will be suitable for members and that you will sign up to attend, but we are all well aware that what will be on the day is what it will be! Details of a possible Christmas lunch for our December meeting, on Tuesday 15 December, will be shortly be available for voting, and I hope you will participate in that vote, so we can make that work for members who wish to attend.
I’m hoping that what Bill set out to achieve, from his vision, is now on its way, and that support and lasting friendships are being born. We all have Bill, and Ian, to thank for that vision and all their hard work.
