ME & Me is a brand new site for local ME sufferers to access information, news and support all in one place!
Due to my increasing ME activism, I’ve launched the site as a platform and safe space for local ME sufferers.
ME activism is a huge part of my life, as I’d like not only to fight for better health equality and treatments for other sufferers but also for my own future. Since being diagnosed aged 11 I’ve suffered through multiple hospitalisations and operations. However, people with ME need more support, more recognition and more respect.
I’m excited to share stories of local ME sufferers from across Yorkshire with other people who are going through the same thing. The site will not only share stories but the ongoing activism that is fighting for a better future for us all.
NICE estimates that ME effects ‘at least’ 0.2% to 0.4% of the UK population, implying that up to 1 in 250 people are affected by the disease. This means there is around 7,608 people with ME in Leeds alone.
Please check out ‘ME & Me’ by clicking the link below where you can choose to sign up for free email updates of new updates and featured articles. I’ve also set up a Twitter page where you can also keep up to date.
The website can also be found at the top of this site, under the ME Organisations tab.
