The brand new local radio station launched it’s brand new frequency from The Coppergate Centre, York at 12 noon on Bank Holiday Monday 27th August 2018, with Party Band ‘The Superlicks’ playing to a huge crowd

The radio station boasts a great 24 hour listen with music from the 60’s to the present day, and a mix of local artists added to the playlist. Events, local information and news will be the core of YO1 Radio’s output. There are specialist shows from 8pm weekday evenings and 6pm at the weekend with Rock to Northern Soul, Show Tunes to Latin. There’s free advertising on both FM and online for charities/social groups in the form of advertising or interviews and local businesses can also take up the offer of affordable radio advertising too!

Fast-growing feelgood station YO1 Radio has been building up an impressive online audience share since it began broadcasting across a digital footprint on 12th September 2017, but from today, the estimated 50% of local radio fans who still prefer to listen through an analogue signal will also be able to enjoy the station’s fresh new sound on the frequency of 102.8 FM
