A York school which is bursting at the seams could soon have a brand new £6 million extension – on the site of a neighbouring school.
The unique plan would see a £6.2 million annexe built for Scarcroft Primary School located at Millthorpe School.
York councillors will consider the proposal at a meeting of the executive on Thursday, January 28.
A rise in demand has led to the need to create additional primary school places in the Southbank area of the city.
To future-proof provision against forecast demand over the next ten years and beyond, a new building is proposed to provide 210 additional pupil places.
