Hundreds of children and young people marched through York city centre today for an annual St George’s Day parade with a difference.
As normal, scouts and cubs from troops based in and around the city met at the Eye of York.
But instead of holding their annual service in York Minster, they marched in bright sunshine to Museum Gardens, as the Minster is currently preparing for the York Mystery Plays, to be held in the cathedral later this summer.
Beavers joined in the service and celebration at Museum Gardens and took part in the march back to the Eye of York, where the parade concluded.
